RescueNet Live Plus: Elevate Your Care to
New Heights

PROJECT SCOPE: Art direction for photoshoot and branding, design of the Shorthand webpage
TOOLS I USED: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Shorthand
OBJECTIVE: When our EMS team approached us to launch their RescueNet Live Plus software, we wanted to deliver something more engaging than a print piece to debut ZOLL’s new technology.

For this project I was responsible for pioneering the use of Shorthand as a creative deliverable for our in-house team. Shorthand is a digital storytelling platform that allows us to create engaging online experiences for our audience. On Shorthand’s platform we can utilize video content, animations, and their “scrollmation” feature to support our narrative - all without the need to program or code.

To complete this project, I worked closely with our editorial team and marketers to define the ZOLL product story, art directed the photoshoot to capture new images for RescueNet Live Plus, and created visual storyboards which were translated into the final product web page. This was truly a project I was able to own every step of the way, and I am excited to immerse myself in more of this work.

Final RescueNet Live Plus Page

The final RescueNet Live Plus page takes users through the journey of a Smart Ambulance, and how ZOLL’s software enables collaboration between EMS teams and their local hospitals. Users can scroll through the story or navigate to specific sections of interest.

This page is presented as launching point for sales representatives and potential customers, and is being translated for international use.

How can we make this experience different than print?

After working closely with the editorial team and marketers to tell the ZOLL product story, I began drafting out how to visualize each section. It was important to consider how to enhance the story and user experience through imagery, video, and animation in a way that differs from how we approach our typical print pieces.

Some of the immersive features on this page include:

  • A virtual “Smart” Ambulance tour

  • Demonstration of the plug-and-play devices and vitals that clinicians have access to with RNL+ technology

  • A visualization of both the EMS and clinician view of RNL+

Another unique aspect to this project was that we were able to shoot the new photography for RescueNet Live Plus after drafting out the visuals, so I knew exactly what images and compositions I needed to capture.

To the right are some of my original page mockups and their final designs, and below are some of the image selects from the shoot.
